Body Scrubs!

It's winter. I'm a spring baby, so I pretty much have a diversion to all things cold. I may live in NYC area, but that does NOT mean that I like the weather this time of year! Dry, itchy skin that leaves me more scaly than an alligator isn't the sexiest look, even if my legs are covered in pants or tights. Fortunately, there is one good thing -- an excuse to indulge in salt and sugar scrubs. Some of my favorites below:

Dream Organics Rose Mint Body Scrub: This is my client's product but I absolutely ADORE it. It's the first product I tried from Dream Organics (an eco-friendly aromatherapeutic spa and body line), and I'm addicted. The smell is divine (rose, peppermint, and spearmint) and the essential oils all have a healing purpose, though my favorite is the spearmint essential oil, which can help soothe aching muscles. The real star, though, is the Himalayan Pink Salt, which contains many minerals naturally occurring in the body, like Magnesium, Copper, Potassium, and Calcium. These minerals are then absorbed into the body, aiding in cell function.

I love love LOVE this product because it gently sloughs away dry skin without being too abrasive, and seriously, the smell. I just can't get enough. The scrub also leaves skin feeling soft and moisturized (thanks to the shea butter) and not sticky or rough. Pair it with Dream Organics' Sweet Dreams Creme de Luxe and you'll be in soft skin heaven.

One of my other favorite body scrubs is from a brand called Sweet Beauty. I discovered this amazing brand from Spirit Beauty Lounge, whom I did some PR work for a few years back. Sweet Beauty uses -- get this -- CHOCOLATE in many of its products. It's so hard not to eat them! My favorite scrub from them is the Nourish Sugar Scrub. Made with THREE chocolates (I'm seriously dying here), the Nourish Sugar Scrub exfoliates and moisturizes with Theo Organic Chocolate, Babassu Seed Oil and Natural Sugar. You leave smelling faintly like chocolate, but in a totally delicious way. It really gets rid of the gross, dry winter skin and leaves skin soft and smooth. I love that it's only got natural ingredients (like Dream Organics) and uses organic and Fair Trade ingredients, so your conscious can rest easy with this product. Love!
